Sundaresh Menon, Chief Justice of the Singapore Visits the Supreme Court of Korea

The Honorable Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon of Singapore, along with Justice Valerie Tan, Justice Aidan Xu, and Justice Philip Jeyaretnam, paid an official visit to Korea from March 10 to 13, 2025. This visit was especially significant as it marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore. During his visit, Chief Justice Menon shared insights on Singapore's judiciary, internationally recognized for its efficient administration and high public confidence. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the Korean and Singaporean judiciaries.


During the visit, Chief Justice Menon and his delegation visited various institutions of the Korean judiciary, including the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court IT Center, the Judicial Research and Training Institute, the Judicial Policy and Research Institute, the Patent High Court, and the Seoul Bankruptcy Court.

A Korea-Singapore Chief Justices Bilateral Meeting took place at the Supreme Court, where justices from both countries engaged in in-depth discussions on three topical issues: Court Technology, International Dispute Resolution, and Intellectual Property. This meeting provided an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding between Korea and Singapore.


Chief Justice Menon's official visit is expected to strengthen trust between the two judiciaries and promote advancements in the administration of justice in both countries through meaningful exchanges, judicial assistance, and cooperation between the Supreme Courts of Korea and Singapore.
