On August 28, 2025, the Honorable Chief Justice JO Hee-de received a courtesy visit from H.E. Ambassador Emilia Gatto of Italy to the Republic of Korea. Chief Justice Jo and Ambassador Gatto, in their meeting, exchanged views on a range of social and cultural issues of mutual interest to both countries. In particular, Ambassador Gatto conveyed her best wishes for the successful opening of the upcoming Sejong International Judicial Conference, scheduled to be held on September 22–23, 2025.

Ambassador Gatto also expressed her deep interest in Korean culture and the Korean language. Following her meeting with Chief Justice Jo, Ambassador Gatto met with Justice RHO Tae-ak, where they explored measures to enhance judicial cooperation and exchange between their two countries.
